Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dornoch Castle Hotel and, let me tell you, the culinary experience truly stood out. As a photographer and adventure traveler, I appreciate good food, and this hotel didn't disappoint. The dining room had a charming ambiance that immediately placed you in a relaxed state-a perfect prelude to the meal ahead. On our first night, I decided to try the gin-cured salmon made with local Thompson Bro's Gin. It was uniquely flavorful, complementing the Highland Fine Cheese from Tain that followed. Dinner was well-portioned, making it hard to complain, but the prawn cocktail wasn't quite what I expected. The breakfast each morning was a highlight-simple, plentiful, and a great way to fuel up for exploring. With a whisky bar boasting an impressive collection, it was a comforting end to our days. I found the whole experience worth our stopover, adding a touch of character to our Scottish adventure.
